This was a theyyam in Kannur.  This is Shiva, or a man possessed by Shiva for the night.  He spun round and round hundreds of times and nearly fell over. There was also Indian fireworks which rained burning embers!

The steam train to Ooty

So up at 4:30am, fingers crossed we get on the train to Ooty as we only have waiting list tickets but our names are on the list! We board the train for a 5 hour trip which starts are 7:10am.  It was worth the early start!
